The Scottish Home Improvement Awards, now in their fifth year, is Scotland’s biggest industry trade event.
Always focused on our clients first and not being very good at ‘blowing our own trumpet’ we normally find we are unable to commit the significant time required to do all the groundwork involved to enter award competitions. Celebrating our 40th year in business, we decided to find a way to do this out with our extremely busy workload and we were absolutely delighted to take home the prestigious Best Kitchen Company 2019 award (which we also won when we did last enter)!
The title comes as a great validation from our peers and from the industry but also reflects 40 years of longevity in an ever-evolving industry. We continuously strive to develop our reputation for original creative design, precision, craftsmanship and quality materials delivered alongside a dedicated personal customer experience and this SHIA award confirms it.
Our strong company ethos and integrity drives everything we do, and we place our client at the heart of our thinking to deliver an experience we would personally love to receive. We carefully consider our design to create an environment that will enhance our clients’ everyday lives, making tasks easier, freeing up valuable time that can then be enjoyed with family and friends in a beautiful, comfortable kitchen living space. We are always delighted to hear from our clients that this has become a reality and the positive effect this has on their lives.
To help achieve this, our team are qualified interior architects and designers, all choosing to study design from a natural passion. We design and draw every kitchen from scratch, often starting on the drawing board, to consider every detail. In comparison to a traditional sales environment, clients comment that they see a noticeable difference in their experience and in the time, care and consideration we afford to find the perfect solution for them.
Working closely, everyone from designers to the installation team loves what they do, and it shows. Each team member is proactively learning and brings something different to the company, offering our clients a genuine wealth of knowledge. We invest significant time and resources in training to continually educate our team and everyone from designers to installers receive ongoing training including at bulthaup HQ in Germany. We are building strong relationships with architects and engineers who, with a real understanding of the quality and engineering and are excellent advocates for our product.
Quality of craftsmanship, authentic materials and design beauty endure, and we believe in investing in quality. Our selected partners develop products to last for 25 years plus and together we look after our clients long term. A client with a 25 year old bulthaup kitchen for example will often choose to keep rather than replace it as it still looks amazing and works efficiently after so many years and they can still obtain key items including a replacement hinge or doors etc for obsolete collections. This helps to save clients cost and is more sustainable long term.
Our product partners are carefully chosen and share our vision and deliver to the highest standards enabling us to create unparalleled quality and innovative design, German design house bulthaup and kitchen experts Hacker in particular.
Ultimately, we believe that combined with our passion for functionality, precision and design, a successful project is also about ensuring our client is at the forefront and establishing a two-way dialogue. Our design team can only create the perfect space if we truly understand the lifestyle of our client. Our ability to listen and interpret our clients’ individual needs and aspirations has been key to our long-term success.
