40 YEARS OF CAMERON INTERIORS

17-11-2019

Four decades of experience, dedication, learning, expertise and relationship building. Cameron Interiors has been helping you transform your living and workspaces since 1979 and we are so proud to continue to be at the heart of your homes.

Four decades of milestones and achievements. Our ability to adapt has kept us at the forefront of luxury kitchen and interior design, along with our ability to listen and interpret our clients’ requirements. From the very start Cameron Interiors has developed a well-earned reputation as leaders in luxury design and craftsmanship.

Cameron Interiors was opened by Leonard Cameron in 1979, focussing on German kitchen brand Goldreif, which proved very successful as the integrity of quality was always at the forefront, even back then. Leonard instilled in us all his sincerity, honesty and principles which we have upheld ever since.

Moving forward into the 1990s, two vital new ingredients were added– Poggenpohl kitchens and Kirsten Robeson. Kirsten joined us in 1993 as a young designer and with Leonard’s guidance and under his watchful but kind eye developed her skills. When Leonard retired in 1997, he had great confidence in offering the company to Kirsten, an opportunity which she relished and appreciated. She took the opportunity in both hands and has never looked back.

Premium brands were added to the portfolio over the next decade with Poggenpohl, Goldreif, Pronorm, Warendorf and Miele leading the design briefs. Kirsten positioned Cameron Interiors as the most experienced and reliable interiors company, with an enviable reputation for loyalty and attention to detail. As the kitchen market developed and Glasgow fully embraced luxury interiors, the jewel in the CI crown was to move forward and become bulthaup’s first West of Scotland partner.

The Cameron Interiors installation team is renowned country wide for reliability and precision and the team has built steadily upon its reputation, going from strength to strength. Naturally, the next step would be expansion and in 2010, the Cameron Interiors East Coast studio opened its doors in Edinburgh’s New Town, further strengthening it’s position as Scotland’s only bulthaup dealer.

The only thing to do in our anniversary year of 2019 is, naturally, to be thankful and celebrate. We were delighted to toast four decades with family, friends, suppliers, architects and clients. Leonard’s daughters, Pamela and Julie, joined us to celebrate their father’s legacy and its reinvention over the last twenty years under Kirsten’s leadership. Masterchef contestant Mark Heirs provided exquisite cuisine, with drinks from Arbikie Distillery and music by Elliot Murray. It was the perfect night to top forty incredible years.

We toast to a bright future for Cameron Interiors. We toast our storied past and stand on the shoulders on giants. We toast all those who have stood beside us and worked hard throughout these four decades and we look forward to much, much more.
